A Boulder County jury has convicted Longmont man, Stevie Brown, on 19 counts of child sexual exploitation material and one county of habitual child sex offender.

Brown’s sentencing is scheduled for September 17, where he will face a minimum of 24 years in prison, according to a Boulder County District Attorney’s Office news release.

The backstory:

The conviction follows a story more than three years in the making…

  • February, 2023: After a cybertip, investigators searched Brown’s Longmont home in the 1700 block of Whitehall Dr.

    • Investigators found over 3,000 images, videos, and moving images of child sexual exploitation material.

    • The majority of material depicted girls between ages 4 and 14.

  • Brown evades arrest and goes on the run for more than a year.

  • April, 2024: Brown is finally captured by the Grand Junction Police Department at a homeless shelter.

Brown has a prior 2015 conviction for attempted sexual assault and child sexual exploitation material.
