Sunset usually marks the end of the story. Last weekend, it marked a new beginning.

Sunset Pool opened for the summer season on Thursday. Between then and Memorial Day, 2,221 visitors entered its gates. On Memorial Day alone, 1,017 swimmers arrived for fun in the sun. That’s the most Sunset Pool has seen on the holiday since 2022.

The week ahead:

Visitation could take a hit in the next week. National Weather Service forecasts show a chance of thunderstorms and showers Wednesday through Tuesday.

Currently, the pool is operating under its preseason hours. But come June 1, hours will expand until August 9. For more information, visit here.

Sunset Pool features include a heated outdoor pool with six, 25-meter lap lanes, 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards, and two water slides.
