The suspect in a shooting at a Longmont Dollar Tree is no longer on the run.
19-year-old Anthony Lorenzo Perez-Reyes turned himself in to police Monday afternoon, per Longmont Public Safety PIO Robin Ericson. Perez-Reyes is the suspect behind a Saturday afternoon shooting that sent one person to the hospital.
What happened:
On Saturday around 2:45 p.m., Longmont Police responded to a reported shooting at the Dollar Tree on Main Street.
Per City of Longmont spokesperson Sandra Seader, the shooting happened following an altercation at the store between a juvenile male and an adult male, now identified as Perez-Reyes.
The juvenile picked up a weapon and Perez-Reyes pulled out a firearm. Perez-Reyes allegedly fired multiple rounds in the parking lot, striking the juvenile at least once in the leg.
The victim was taken to the hospital, and was later released.
Though police had identified a suspect, Perez-Reyes remained at large for nearly two days until surrendering to police.
